Teachers and students of KSU took part in the final international conference in Kazan

Lecturer at the faculty of Construction, candidate of economic Sciences, associate Professor Rustam Eshniyazov, lecturer in Journalism, PhD in Philology, associate Professor Bahtibay Paluanov, the student of 4th course of the faculty of Architecture Rasul Khudainasarov and student of the 3rd course of the faculty of Construction of Khumayun Buranbaev participated in the final international conference of the Erasmus project “Modernization of curriculum in the sphere of smart building engineering green building – GREB”, which took place 11-12 September in the city of Kazan (Russian Federation).

Despite the fact that the main days of the conference were to be held on September 11-12, the work of the conference began on September 9. On this day, teachers and students visited Kazan state University of Architecture and Construction. There was a meeting with the head of Department of international relations Olga Poroshenko and Gilmeyeva Lilia. At the meeting Olga and Lilia  explained in detail the program of the upcoming conference and together with Rustam Nauryzbaevich discussed opportunities for future cooperation about the exchange of students and teachers. At the end of the day, teachers and students got acquainted with the architecture and sights of the city.

On September 10, at 9 am, an informal meeting was held between the project coordinators from the member universities and the organizers from the Italian University Of l’ Aquilla, international experts from various universities and research centers in Europe. And the meeting was attended by the rector of KSUAE, Professor Rashit Nizamov.  The rector of the University Rashid Kurmangalievich very warmly received the guests, especially the participants from Uzbekistan, calling them “Brothers in the faith, and for language.” The meeting discussed the results and achievements of the project.  Coordinators presented their works. The meeting was followed by lunch. After lunch, the organizers took the participants to the main attraction of the city in the Kazan Kremlin, built by Ivan the Terrible. The tour was conducted by a professional guide and interpreter Dilyara Sharifullina. During the tour, participants visited the main religious centers of Tatarstan the Kul-Sharif mosque and the Blagovehsinsky Cathedral. Being in one place, these two main buildings of two different religions, mean a symbol of tolerance and peace between believers of Orthodoxy and Islam .  Then the participants visited the Suyumbike tower (58 meters high, and according to legend built in a week) and the archaeological exhibition of the Golden Horde in the Hermitage branch.  At the end of the day, participants were given free time to walk around the city and get to know each other better.

On 11 September, the conference officially began its work. At 9.30 the first session of the conference began. The session was opened by Professor Anna Tozzi from L’ Aquilla University, who is the project Manager. It even gave a speech congratulating the rector of KAUAE Professor Rashit Nizamov, and Deputy Minister of construction of Tatarstan Vladimir Kudryashov. After a short break for “coffee Break”, the second session began. Rodrigo Aguirre from the Institute of Progressive Architecture (Spain) spoke about the use of 3D technologies in construction. At the end of the speech, he answered the participants ‘ questions. Then the first official dinner took place. After lunch, the participants went on an excursion to the island of Sviyazhsk, which is a cultural heritage of UNESCO. The Museum of Wooden houses, Uspenskiy and Sviyazhsk monasteries were visited on the island. After the tour, professors and lecturers from the universities of Tashkent, Moscow and Astrakhan spoke at the consortium. At the end of the day, the first official dinner was held, where the participants got acquainted with the refinement of Russian cuisine.

On September 12, the day began with a tour of the research centers of KSUAE. During the tour, the participants got acquainted with the educational process and scientific and technical achievements of the University. After the tour, the participants listened to a lecture by Harvard University Professor Hanif Kara on the problems of development of architecture and construction and modern design of the building. Then, after a short break for “coffee Break”, students of the Moscow University of Architecture and Construction, Kazan State University of Architecture and Construction, Astrakhan State University of Architecture and Construction and Karakalpak State University presented their projects. As a result of the presentation, our students were recognized as one of the best. And the clothes decorated in the national style, which were worn by our students during the presentation, left a special impression on the participants of this event.  After lunch, participants listened to a lecture by University of Toronto Professor Bridget Sheen, on the sustainable development of wooden structures in the field of architecture and construction. After the lecture was organized the excursion to the stadium “Kazan arena” in the design, which Professors of KSUAE participated. After the tour, a dinner was held, in which the participants got acquainted with the Tatar cuisine and culture.

On September 13, a tour of the city of Innopolis was organized. This city is the project of the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The city was built in 2015 as a center of innovative technologies. The city has a special economic zone, which employs about 3,000 people in programming. And also in the area there are offices of major global companies such as Google, Microsoft, Yandex, Alibaba, Huawei. And also in the city there is a University of the same name, which prepares students IT. The University is one of the most famous in the field of programming and it teaches 80 teachers from 35 countries and 650 students from 50 countries.

On September 14, a meeting was held between teachers from Uzbekistan and KSUAE. The meeting discussed the future of close cooperation between Universities of Uzbekistan and Russia. At the end of the meeting the teachers of KSUAE presented books as a gift.

The GREB project was established in 2016 on the basis of THE European Union Erasmus Foundation. The aim of the project was to bring together experts, teachers, students in the fields of architecture and construction from various Universities and research centers in Europe, Russia, Mongolia and Uzbekistan to develop smart home and green building projects.
